Tamsin is the most powerful witch of her generation. But after committing the worst magical sin, she&;s exiled by the ruling Coven and cursed with the inability to love. The only way she can get those feelings back&;even for just a little while&;is to steal love from others.
Wren is a source&;a rare kind of person who is made of magic, despite being unable to use it herself. Sources are required to train with the Coven as soon as they discover their abilities, but Wren&;the only caretaker to her ailing father&;has spent her life hiding her secret.
When a magical plague ravages the queendom, Wren&;s father falls victim. To save him, Wren proposes a bargain: if Tamsin will help her catch the dark witch responsible for creating the plague, then Wren will give Tamsin her love for her father.
Of course, love bargains are a tricky thing, and these two have a long, perilous journey ahead of them&;that is, if they don't kill each other first..
Hello everyone! I hope you are having an amazing day, as always, make sure you drink your wate , eat your veggies, stay active but most importantly, BE HAPPY.
I could go down a rabbit hole easily right now because I'm in that moment where I see how harmful social media can be, specially TIK TOK. Don't get me wrong, I love TIK TOK (way too much lol) but it's just SO toxic that I sometimes can not stand it. So if you are having a hard time, my email and social media's are up here somewhere so just shoot me a dm or a message and I will try to make my best at helping anyone at anytime. I know, this has nothing to do with bookish contest but I needed to get it out there and be supportive because we all need to be reminded that we are WORTH IT and BEAUTIFUL from the inside out!
Alright now let get down to business haha.
Today's review is about a book that omg I absolutely adored!
Definitely it's been the best book that I read in august and even tho the month it's not over yet, I'm pretty positive it's not going to change any time soon.
I was in such a magic/fantasy mood when I picked up this book which is weird for me since I'm always on a romance mood during summer time but thank god I wasn't because otherwise I wouldn't have read form sweet and bitter magic.
I feel like the title is kind of self explanatory but here is the premise: lesbian romance, enemies to lovers, magical and whimsical. What else could you ask for?
The plot was ✨obviously✨ amazing. It was fastpeaced but not in an overwhelming way which is exactly what I always look for in a book, to keep me hooked to the story but not so much to the point where I have no idea what the heck is going on anyomore.
I do have to say that the first half of the book was noticeably better than the second half, the plot twist was nothing unexpected and quite unoriginal in my opinion but still I breezed through it.
The characters were STUNNING bit of the girls where so loving and they really developed an amazing relationship and it just inevitable to be soft with them and feel their love through the pages.
It definitely statisfied my whimsical/magical mood and it did with a super high rating.
Like a said, literally the best book I read in august and I could very safely say that this si the best fantasy book that I have read so far in 2021
5/5⭐️
