SYNOPSIS

Everyone knows the Ivies: the most coveted universities in the United States. Far more important are the Ivies. The Ivies at Claflin Academy, that is. Five girls with the same mission: to get into the Ivy League by any means necessary. I would know. I’m one of them. We disrupt class ranks, club leaderships, and academic competitions…among other things. We improve our own odds by decreasing the fortunes of others. Because hyper-elite competitive college admissions is serious business. And in some cases, it’s deadly.

Alexa Donne delivers a nail-biting and timely thriller about teens who will stop at nothing to get into the college of their dreams. Too bad no one told them murder isn’t an extracurricular.

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I went into this books KNOWING that it was going to be a very typical story and it was full of clichés. Still I thought that maybe it was going to have some sort of surprise element but it really did not.

I kind of disliked the main character at times, I get that she couldn’t go against the ivies but she also couldn’t stand up for herself and she was humiliated and was treated as if her dreams of going to Harvard where not worth it. I also disliked the character of Avery, she was the typical hated character that none of us wants in our lives.

There were also parts where the main character had the heroine complex and tried to solve the mystery by herself and felt super irrealistic and so not sensible like, let the cops do their job you know.

It was kind of disappointing that whenever you would expect a plot twist to happen it did. There wasn’t much character developments which I know it tends to be the case with thrillers but it was a bit too obvious in this one.

Overall I did not enjoyed it as much as I wish I had but I do think It could be a very good option to people who are just starting to read YA thrillers.

SYNOPSIS

You heard the story on the news. A girl and a boy went into the woods. The girl carried a picnic basket. The boy wore bright yellow running shoes. The girl found her way out, but the boy never did….

Everyone thinks they know what happened. Some say Tabby pushed him off that cliff— she didn’t even like hiking. She was jealous. She had more than her share of demons. Others think he fell accidentally—she loved Mark. She would never hurt him…even if he hurt her.
But what’s the real story? All Eyes On Her is told from everyone but Tabby herself as the people in her life string together the events that led Tabby to that cliff. Her best friend. Her sister. Her enemy. Her ex-boyfriend. Because everybody thinks they know a girl better than she knows herself.

What do you think is the truth?

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐

Rating: 3 out of 5.

OMG, Just WOW.
This is one of the best YA thrillers I have ever read.
It keeps you on your sit the whole time, you lose track of the suspects, everyone seems to have committed the murder and I was a whole mess reading this book.

I couldn’t put it down, I just wanted to know what had happened.
It sounds typical, a girl and a boy who goes into the woods and one of them dies, what happened? But really it was unlike anything I have ever read.
Basically you follow so many different POVS except for Tabby’s , the main character, so up until de end you have no idea of what truly happened. There were so many different versions of the crime and a bunch of characters who had their reasons either to have killed him or to blame her.
I was CONVICED of who it was, but guess what, I WAS WRONG. Seriously, don’t think about it much, and I’m telling you, if you read it (which you MUST) try not to overthink everything because you are not going to guess anything.
Whenever you have the murderer I am telling you, you are wrong.
It was such an incredible time, I couldn’t think about anything else for hours. I have just finished it and I wished I could go back in time and read it again, that is HOW MUCH I loved it.

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I don’t know if I am the only one but I have heard about this book A LOT, so I decided to pick it up. I have to say there were many mixed reviews, some people loved it and others despised it and I feel like I am in between both opinions.

I gave it 3 stars which is not a bad rating for me but there some stuff missing.
I reallly loved the dynamic that our both main characters had together so I would have appreciated more of their romance in the plot. It was definitely a very plot driven story and there was not so much character development. They did have an amazing chemistry though and it pains me that their relationship wasn’t shown as much.

I listened to the audiobook for this one since EVERYONE recommended me to and omg IT WAS SO GOOD. It was super atmospheric which is something that kept me hooked to it, there was music, sound effects and even voices and accents that made it so much better and realistic.
The plot twists in this book are something else, SO good and SO unexpected twists keep happening. I either was super hooked and couldn’t put it down or super bored and wanted to move on, there really was no in between.

WHAT IS IS ABOUT?

Shiori, the only princess of Kiata, has a secret. Forbidden magic runs through her veins. Normally she conceals it well, but on the morning of her betrothal ceremony, Shiori loses control. At first, her mistake seems like a stroke of luck, forestalling the wedding she never wanted, but it also catches the attention of Raikama, her stepmother.

Raikama has dark magic of her own, and she banishes the young princess, turning her brothers into cranes, and warning Shiori that she must speak of it to no one: for with every word that escapes her lips, one of her brothers will die.
Penniless, voiceless, and alone, Shiori searches for her brothers, and, on her journey, uncovers a conspiracy to overtake the throne—a conspiracy more twisted and deceitful, more cunning and complex, than even Raikama's betrayal. Only Shiori can set the kingdom to rights, but to do so she must place her trust in the very boy she fought so hard not to marry. And she must embrace the magic she's been taught all her life to contain—no matter what it costs her.

Hi readers! I hope your day is going amazing! Today I bring you a review of a book that I LOOVEDD and I hope you all read it and like it as much as I did!

“never let anyone make you feel bad about the things you’re capable of. Some will insist you step into the shadows to make them more comfortable. But I’ll tell you a secret: there’s enough light for us all”✨🍃

This books had the perfect combination of everything. It had romance, fantasy, grief, friendship and so much more. But everything in the absolute perfect amount.
The main character was stunning and I could absolutely understand and feel her. But the boy, OH LORD THE BOY, he was such a caring character, he loved her in such a cute and romantic way. He loved plants and let me tell you, that made me loved him EVEN MORE.

Everything was executed in a very nice way, the plot made so much sense with everything she was going through, it felt absolutely right. A feel good read which was exactly what I needed.
I do have to say that I felt like it got a little bit repetitive at one point (which is why it doesn’t have a 5 stars) but other than that it was perfect.

I loved the fact that it doesn’t have an overwhelming fantasy feeling nor plot which made it super super easy to read.
We stan a bi main character, super strong and independent woman who can save the world by her self, thank you very much.

Single mom Jess Davis is a data and statistics wizard, but no amount of number crunching can convince her to step back into the dating world. Raised by her grandparents--who now help raise her seven-year-old daughter, Juno--Jess has been left behind too often to feel comfortable letting anyone in. After all, her father's never been around, her hard-partying mother disappeared when she was six, and her ex decided he wasn't "father material" before Juno was even born. Jess holds her loved ones close, but working constantly to stay afloat is hard...and lonely.

But then Jess hears about GeneticAlly, a buzzy new DNA-based matchmaking company that's predicted to change dating forever. Finding a soulmate through DNA? As the pair are dragged from one event to the next as the "Diamond" pairing that could make GeneticAlly a mint in stock prices, Jess begins to realize that there might be more to the scientist--and the science behind a soulmate--than she thought.

Hi readers! For the ones who are going back to school, I hope you are not bored yet hahah, YOU CAN DO THIS!

Same for the ones that are also going back to work, YOU GOT THIS.

Anyways, summer is over and so is the romance mood honestly (have I talked about this before? I think so but just in case you haven’t read that post I am talking about it again. Even though summer is over, the recommendations are still coming in strong, because I read a few the last month (and have another one on my tbr for a book club for this month so if you like romance, you will love this)

Let’s get into todays topic shall we,

This was such a cute and feel good romance story that I very much enjoyed!

Both the main characters were so lovable and you really get to care for them. The love interest was just stunning and I absolutely adored the relationship that he had with our main character but also with Juno the child! OMG so Freacking cute and heartwarming.

You don't really get to see romance stories when the love interest are in her 30 and one of them has a child already, she was trying to fall in love again and reconstruct her life which was so realistic and a side of romance books that you don't get to see much.
It was so well done, their chemistry was STUNNING and the plot and whole dating app based on DNA thing was remarkably good.
It made so much sense and wasn't unrealistic at all! It was also a SUPER fast read which is something I LOVE and very much appreciate.
Christina Lauren KNOWS how to write a GOOD romance book and you really get to see that in this particular one.
WOW, grab it and read it, you won't regret it!
