REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rating: 5 out of 5.
This is one that i was absolutely not expecting to be this good.
We are following two different stories in different time periods and that is a concept that I loved and found super interesting. Both of the stories were super different but still felt connected and like both the main characters knew each other.

Also the chapters that were in the past following Nella and Eliza, were written in what it felt like a different way like more magical and lyrical.
The relationship between Nella and Eliza was the cutest, Nellla was like a mother to the poor child and I swear my heart felt warm while reading their story.

The concept of the books is immaculate, women helping women over oppressive men from back in the day, yes please and not just that one because there were so many hidden life lessons in this amazing story, feminism and letting people go to fulfill your dreams. It was waaaaay more than just an apothecary story.

I will admit that maybe objectively this book its not a five starts but I loved it SO MUCH that I could not give it any less and at the end of the day, that is what matters right?
The ending gave me chills and by the end a single tear was falling through my face, I genuinely felt so sad for letting the story and the characters go, I can not wait for the reread.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was born and raised in northeast Kansas, growing up in a small log cabin nestled deep in the woods. This picturesque retreat, where I lived until early adulthood, frames most of my early memories.

I began writing seriously in 2015, after attending a moving lecture given by Elizabeth Gilbert. She was on tour for Big Magic, a game-changing book for creatives. Soon after her talk, I enrolled in my first online creative writing class. I haven't looked back since.

I'm an avid traveler, though my heart is stuck in London. Other favorite destinations include Thailand, Ireland, Germany, Belize, and Grand Cayman.

I graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in finance. In early 2021, after thirteen years in corporate America, I left my day job. I'm thrilled now to call myself a full-time writer. When I'm not at the keyboard, you'll likely find me in the kitchen, the yoga studio, or running outdoors in the Florida heat.

I'm married to my best friend, Marc. We're proud residents of the Sunshine State, where we live with our "silky hair" miniature dachshund, Zoe.
