Me encanto.

Malibu: August 1983. It's the day of Nina Riva's annual end-of-summer party, and anticipation is at a fever pitch. Everyone wants to be around the famous Rivas: Nina, the talented surfer and supermodel; brothers Jay and Hud, one a championship surfer, the other a renowned photographer; and their adored baby sister, Kit. Together the siblings are a source of fascination in Malibu and the world over--especially as the offspring of the legendary singer Mick Riva.

The only person not looking forward to the party of the year is Nina herself, who never wanted to be the center of attention, and who has also just been very publicly abandoned by her pro tennis player husband. Oh, and maybe Hud--because it is long past time for him to confess something to the brother from whom he's been inseparable since birth.

Jay, on the other hand, is counting the minutes until nightfall, when the girl he can't stop thinking about promised she'll be there.

And Kit has a couple secrets of her own--including a guest she invited without consulting anyone.

By midnight the party will be completely out of control. By morning, the Riva mansion will have gone up in flames. But before that first spark in the early hours before dawn, the alcohol will flow, the music will play, and the loves and secrets that shaped this family's generations will all come bubbling to the surface.

Malibu Rising is a story about one unforgettable night in the life of a family: the night they each have to choose what they will keep from the people who made them . . . and what they will leave behind.

Hello everybody! It's been a couple weeks since I last posted but I'm back! And stronger than ever. I have now all the time in the world and you already know I'm going to be reading, a lot.

Anyways, for today's review, we have “Malibu rising” this is yet again, one of my most anticipate  releases of 2021. And I have to say, I wasn't tha  socked.

Don't get me wrong, it was good, I enjoyed reading it and wanted to pick it up because I needed to know what was going to happen next. However, it's not the best book of 2021 if you know what I mean.

It was drama packed, and I guess that is kind of the point but i missed something. Maybe more siblings quality time. Maybe More of the relationships between them in present time. I did liked though the fact that the story was kind of real, harsh, true and  that sometimes you may see famous people living their best lives but at the end of the day money doesn't make you happy but  being surrounded by the people you love will. You really get to see what was worth in their lives, and what wasn't specially in Nina’s.

I found Nina’s character really strong, specially on the first part, she goes through so much for her siblings and the fact that she could keep them all together melted my heart, you really get to feel her.

The story was divided into two parts, the first focuses more on their background story and the second one more on the actual party, in present time. I have to say, I loved the first part, getting to know them, traveling back in time absolutely hooked me to the story, the second part on the other hand, it wasn't that good.

I had really high expectations for this one and maybe that is why I expected something else.

I'm being too harsh right now, it was great overall. Good story, amazing writing style, elements that makes you wanna read more. It was okay, but it wasn’t a 5/5 for me.

I do recommend it though, it is a good time. I am also for sure going to read more of the authors books, since I did really like the writing style she has.

For that I gave it
