 The Queen Of Nothing

Now as the exiled mortal Queen of Faerie, Jude is powerless and left reeling from Cardan’s betrayal. She bides her time determined to reclaim everything he took from her. Opportunity arrives in the form of her deceptive twin sister, Taryn, whose mortal life is in peril.

Jude must risk venturing back into the treacherous Faerie Court, and confront her lingering feelings for Cardan, if she wishes to save her sister. But Elfhame is not as she left it. War is brewing. As Jude slips deep within enemy lines she becomes ensnared in the conflict’s bloody politics.

And, when a dormant yet powerful curse is unleashed, panic spreads throughout the land, forcing her to choose between her ambition and her humanity…

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author Holly Black, comes the highly anticipated and jaw-dropping finale to The Folk of the Air trilogy.

IT CAN CONTAIN SPOILERS! (from the rest of the books!)

Because this is the third part of the trilogy, I'll go directly to the spoilers review, if you want to know more about the first book, click here to see the review.

We will all agree that this book was read by all of us immediately after reading the second one, because my mother had a very nice ending.

Jude is now expelled from the kingdom, she lives in the mortal world with Vivi and Oak and I must say that I liked very much to see that aspect of her, how she developed in the mortal world where she had always belonged but had lived very little.

The end of two books left me totally distraught, since I didn't think that Cardan would expel her, obviously he did it to protect her, because it was the best and all that, but even so he took me by surprise. Am I the only one who didn't get the sense of Cardan's expulsion? At no time did it occur to me that he might return, but when he finally told me about it, I was totally amazed by the ingeniousness of the author.

The novel revolves around Cardan and Jude since they are the main relationship, but without a doubt another very interesting relationship is the Jude with Madoc, that battle that they had is tug-of-war. I never really liked the character of Madoc, although I suppose that's the goal, but above all I couldn't understand how Jude could love someone who killed his parents. Anyway, I really liked the battle and that internal war they have, they are both very intelligent and skillful and it was very interesting to see who could do it better and who could come up with the most ingenious move.

On the other hand there is Nicasia, a character that we had not seen so developed before and I have to say that I liked her intervention in the story.

But the biggest plotwist was without a doubt when they got married, although the title of the novel left very little to the imagination, it is true that such a special moment, like the ode, was not very present in the story, although they were not in a position to celebrate it either but it is true that I would have liked to see the ceremony in more detail which would have been more special.

Once again, Holly Black leaves us all speechless with this novel because it has not been less than the other two (specifically with the second book that was the most I liked) so therefore its score is of:

4,5/5⭐️

Have a nice day! 🤍
