☼SYNOPSIS

He loathes the holidays. She loves them. She’s full of festive cheer. He’s brimming with Bah, Humbugs. Besides unreasonably seasonable names, the only thing Jonathan Frost and Gabriella Di Natale have in common is a healthy dose of mutual contempt. Well, that and the same place of employment at the city’s most beloved independent bookstore, Bailey’s Bookshop. But when the store’s owners confess its dire financial state, Jonathan and Gabby discover another unfortunate commonality: the imminent threat of unemployment.

With the Baileys’ requests to minimize expenses, win new customers, and make record sales dancing in their heads, Jonathan and Gabby conclude—barring a financial Christmas miracle—one of them will soon be cut from the payroll. Neither are willing to step down from their position, so they strike a bargain: whoever has more sales in December gets to stay on in the new year; the loser will resign. With a lifetime's worth of festive tricks up her sleeve, Gabby should easily outsell her nemesis, except the unreadable Mr. Frost’s every move seems purely designed to throw her off her game.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Gabby's deceptive ex won't quit pursuing her, and her anonymous online friend suggests they take a break. Worst of all, as the pressure mounts to save the bookshop and her job, Gabby meets a new, tender side of Jonathan. Is this the same man she's called her cold-hearted enemy?

Maybe he’s got a motive she just can’t figure out—or maybe Jonathan Frost isn’t as chilly as she once thought. Maybe Jonathan and Gabby already know—and love—each other in ways they never thought possible.

Noooow romance Christmas books are just something else, am i right?

I am going to keep it sweet and short because this is how the book was.

Nothing too special and nothing too remarkable. Ambience was nice and the romance was okay, honestly it was pretty scarce. I hate to say this but it  just falls into the bag of Christmas romance books. Also it had the most predictable plot line ever, like there were literally NO shocking elements or plot twists or anything like that.

There was something that made it a tiny little bit different and it was the fact that they were both diagnosed with illnesses (obviously not going to say much) since that was the literal only thing that made it different from the rest of similar books, it would have been nice if could have had a little bit more insight into it and see them bond with each other over it.

Other than that, pretty average but still a nice christmas romance book to read during this time!

☼SYNOPSIS

Ruby gives up talking at a young age. Her mother isn’t always there to notice; she comes and goes and goes and comes, until, one day, she doesn’t. Silence becomes Ruby’s refuge, sheltering her from the weather of her mother’s mental illness and a pressurized suburban atmosphere.

Plangent, deft, and sparkling with wry humour, Somebody Loves You is a moving exploration of how we choose or refuse to tell the stories that shape us

This was a book very different form what I am used to as a reader, and I have to say that It felt really nice to change it up. I am not used to non/fiction, for some reason I really never resignate with the stories, but this one made me feel like I was in our main character’s shoes.

It is quite a heartwarming story in which we are inside of this girl’s head as she takes us along her journey.

The audiobook was exceptional, the narrator made me feel like I was in the story and not outside from it. It was sad and harsh at times so it really got to me.

Even tho this was a good one, I do feel like it would not be for everyone. The pacing did felt slow at times and like we were stuck in time a bit. That is one of the reasons why I wasn’t able to give it a higher rating. However, the writing was so beautifully done that made me just keep listening.

Overall it was a great read to disconnect and live through someone else’s eyes!

☼SYNOPSIS

No electricity, no family, no connection to the outside world. For eight years, Cooper and his young daughter, Finch, have lived in isolation in a remote cabin in the northern Appalachian woods. And that's exactly the way Cooper wants it, because he's got a lot to hide. Finch has been raised on the books filling the cabin’s shelves and the beautiful but brutal code of life in the wilderness. But she’s starting to push back against the sheltered life Cooper has created for her—and he’s still haunted by the painful truth of what it took to get them there.

The only people who know they exist are a mysterious local hermit named Scotland, and Cooper's old friend, Jake, who visits each winter to bring them food and supplies. But this year, Jake doesn't show up, setting off an irreversible chain of events that reveals just how precarious their situation really is. Suddenly, the boundaries of their safe haven have blurred—and when a stranger wanders into their woods, Finch’s growing obsession with her could put them all in danger. After a shocking disappearance threatens to upend the only life Finch has ever known, Cooper is forced to decide whether to keep hiding—or finally face the sins of his past.

Vividly atmospheric and masterfully tense, These Silent Woods is a poignant story of survival, sacrifice, and how far a father will go when faced with losing it all

This was a very interesting time. I will start off by saying this will not be a memorable book and lets face it, i will forget about it within months. So lets talk about while I still remember it.

I listened to the audiobook and to be honest I don’t really think i would have been able to read it physically. It actually was quite fast-paced but I don’t know, the audiobook was just, different. I say that i would not have been able to read it physically because i wouldn’t have been interested enough to pick it up, so I decided to listen to it whenever i was doing something else.

Anyways im getting off topic. Something that i liked was the fact that we are following our main character who is a person with a very fucked up past. So he is basically a criminal (that is why he is on the run) but obviously he tells you the story from his point of view so you even get to understand and feel for him which always surprises me, the fact that the twisted main character is actually lovable.

However there was a huge reason why this book wasn’t all that great, and it was because everything got told very fast. Form the halfway point you basically know the whole story of their past. The present moment was not as interesting to me hence why i thought that the flashbacks reveled too much too fast.

The father-daughter relationship was quite cute at times and it actually warmed my heart how far he went to save his daughter.

Overall, i would recommend it if you are interested into it but I wouldn’t go out of my way just to read it. Interesting and all but definitely not a memorable story.

SYNOPSIS

Everyone says I'm a bad girl. They're only partly right--I don't let fear rule me, and I certainly don't care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar's head hockey coach, I'd be vilified if I hooked up with a player from a rival team.

And that's who Jake Connelly is. Harvard's star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel--I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn't making it easy for me.

I need Connelly to be my fake boyfriend.

For every fake date...he wants a real one.

“If you want me to beg, ill beg. If you want me to jump through hoops, bring them on. I'll spend every waking hour until I have to report to training camp proving to you how much you mean to me.”

This was such fun time! I don't really get why people hate on it so much, apparently its the worst of them all?! couldn't tell you because I haven't finished the entire series yet haha.

They tend to not like the fact that the boy main character is not from briar but Harvard but that is something that I love, the love and hate relationship and the constant tension when they are playing its so good. arguably a good written book because you know its not a masterpiece but it was perfect for the time being and It was exactly what I was looking for.

“Chemistry is hard to find and even harder to fight”

because yes, the chemistry was there and I- just had such a good time!

I read the off-campus series ages ago when it first came out and loved every single one of them (except for the last- sorry whoever names where haha) and yes, it was better than the briar u series.

Maybe it was because it was my first time reading Elle Kennedys books or because it was when I first started to get into reading, anyhow they ogs are better and that's on period.

100% Recommend

Hi readers! Today i bring you all my November warp up! Can not believe its alredy fricking December like where did the time go? Anyways i hope you are having an amazing end of the year and hope 2022 will be better!

I feel like like I have actually read quite a lot which is very surprising since November tends to be extremely busy but i guess I was able to get through some!

THE BOOKS

The shadows between us: This was a fantasy book that I enjoyed quite a lot. Strong female lead, lovely and caring male main character and interesting plot, what else could you ask for? It was also a very easy and bingeable read, highly recommend it! THE REVIEW HERE

We have always lived in the castle: I didn’t get this book, didn’t enjoyed it and didn’t liked it. Boring and monotonous. Short book tho so it wasn’t that terrible to get thorough it, 100 pages more and I would have 100% dnf-ed it. THE REVIEW IS YET TO COME

My lovely wife: This book was such a disappointment, i expected to be amazing since the premise sounded super fun ad something that I would enjoy but it went downhill pretty quickly. IDK, a lot of people absolulty loved it and I may be the exception so i would suggest you all to read it anyways! THE REVEW HERE

November 9: OMG this one was amazing. Absolutely stunning romance and both main characters were so real and I literally felt like I knew them peorsonally! Colleen Hoover just abs a way to write that is stunning. Also reading this during November 9 just hit different, 100% recomended it. THE REVIEW

King of corium: Gross, disgusting, misogynistic, romanizing sexual fucking assault. And not much else to say other than I genuinely don’t get why people like this. Period. THE REVIEW IS YET TO COME

The bridge kingdom: A very beloved book that i sadly didn’t enjoyed as much. I listened to the audiobook for it and for some reason I felt super disconnected from it. I would probably be rereading this one in the future and hopefully continue with the series. THE REVIEW HERE

The good lie: This was a very good mystery/thriller book. Really enjoyed it, it was fast (only 200 something pages so pretty good) but yet so much happened. The plot twists were there and i would highly suggest everyone to read it. THE REVIEW HERE

The risk: A lot of people shit on this book but i really loved it! It’s not the best written book ever and objectively its not a 4 start book but it was exactly was I was looking for at the perfect time. The off-campus series was way better, I read ir ages and go and absolutely loved it. If you know miss Elle Kennedy you know.

And that’s my November wrap up! Are we even surprisied about the fact that barely none of this books where on my November tbr? No, we are not.

How did your month went? Let me know in the comments!

I don't really know where I stand with this one.

I started because of the hype and why not but guys... I don't think I liked it all that much.

Partially its because I read it on the course of a few days when its suppose to be a very bingeable book, I also listened to the audiobook, I am not saying its a bad one or anything but I do say that I wasn't inmersed into the story and I also lost track of what was going on a few times.

There was also so may political discussions that I wasn't able to follow and didn't care that much to be honest.

However, my 3 start rating is purely and merely because of the beginning and partially the end.

The start to this book was so powerful, and I instantly thought "this is going to be a great one". The ending was just something else, I wasn't really feeling the characters because again, I was kind of out of the story and the world but I know that if I would have been paying attention, I would have enjoyed it million times more.

I did also lived our woman main character she was just such a badass and such an intelligent woman that and the story a bit better for me.

Sadly, I will not be continuing this series, I just didn't care that much. Don't hate me for this review, I know this is a widely loved book and im genuinely sad about it, I was just on such bad place reading wise.

Maybe I will try it again in the future and hopefully continue the entirety of the series.

Have you read it, if so did you liked it? Let me know!

SYNOPSIS

Six teens murdered. A suspect behind bars. A desperate father. In a case this shadowy, the truth is easy to hide.

Six teenagers dead. Finally, the killer behind bars. But are the games just beginning?

Psychiatrist Dr. Gwen Moore is an expert on killers. She’s spent a decade treating California’s most depraved predators and unlocking their motives—predators much like the notorious Bloody Heart serial killer, whose latest teenage victim escaped and then identified local high school teacher Randall Thompson as his captor. The case against Thompson as the Bloody Heart Killer is damning—and closed, as far as Gwen and the media are concerned. If not for one new development…

Defense attorney Robert Kavin is a still-traumatized father whose own son fell prey to the BH Killer. Convinced of Thompson’s innocence, he steps in to represent him. Now Robert wants Gwen to interview the accused, create a psych profile of the killer and his victims, and help clear his client’s name.

As Gwen and Robert grow closer and she dives deeper into the investigation, grave questions arise. So does Gwen’s suspicion that Robert is hiding something—and that he might not be the only one with a secret.

Ok, WOWOWOWOWO. I loved this.

This was such an easy and fast read. I made a bit of a mistake when I paused it because I was doing a few readathons at the time, that's why the dates are so apart. It made me loose a bit the interest but once I picked it back up I couldn't stop reading.

It was such a twisty little plot, with so many character interwined.

There was perhaps a part in the middle that I enjoyed a bit less but other than that its fantastic.

The characters were sooo interesting, I felt like I know who they were but I had no idea what they were capable of doing and that's the magic of the book, not expecting the unexpected.

It surely had a few plot twists that I was not expecting at all and it kept my mouth open. From the 80 percent mark on, it comes one thing after the other and I- it was just do damn good.

I really down want to say much but I will tell you that everything is important and pay attention to details. Oh and also, no, its not who you think the murder is.

I truly recommend it, but please check the TW before, there are a definitely a few of them

Let me know if you read it!
